Dark Matter Th. are a rock band from Pietrasanta, Lucca, formed in spring/summer 2023 from the almost casual meeting of Ennio (guitar and vocals) and Lapo (drums), two old acquaintances who met on the tennis courts. The beginning was not easy, and the lack of a bass player was keenly felt.
A turning point came at the start of 2024 when Tom, an eclectic character and excellent multi-instrumentalist from Viareggio, joined the band.
The first year flew by with increasingly convincing live performances and the writing of around a dozen songs, naturally leading to the desire to record an album.
By the beginning of 2025, unfortunately, we realised that we had different visions for the future and that the path we were on was not right for us. Reluctantly, Tom and the band parted ways.
After overcoming the initial bewilderment, the band welcomed Alessandro, a highly skilled professional musician and producer. The addition of the bass player from Pisa marked a new beginning, bringing new life and energy to the band. They were able to complete their first EP, entitled ‘Do You Think You Know Me’, in a short time.
Our music and our way of being are clearly influenced by 70s and 90s rock with a hint of blues, and we like to keep things direct and without too many frills.
If we had to sum up Dark Matter in one sentence, it would be “sincere music made by sincere people”.
